Many a diet was forsaken at the mere sight of these exquisite confectioneries. Indeed, its producers claim that “your cheek might drop”. Today, we look towards an assortment of scrumptious cookie offerings by the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory.

There are three flavors; the Salt and Camembert Cookie, Honey and Gorgonzola cookie, and Basil and Mozzarella cookie.

First up, the Salt and Camembert Cookies.

The cookies come individually wrapped in a shiny wrapper embossed with the company logo and tagline in blue; a reflection of Japanese quality and attention to detail.

Odd may sound the pairing of salt and Camembert. Yet, the medley of flavors intertwine beautifully. This cookie tastes salty due to French salt whilst the cheese-flavored chocolate makes it sweet. Two deliciously light cookies (made with Hokkaido milk) sandwiching a delightful blend of sweet and saltiness; such is a taste to behold!

We set our sights next on a platter of Honey and Gorgonzola Cookies.

As with the previous flavor, these cookies come individually wrapped in a shiny wrapper embossed with the company logo and tagline; this time in yellow.

Think Gorgonzola flavored chocolate wedged between two crispy thin cookies flavored with Spanish Rosemary Honey.

Whilst this cookie contains hints of Spanish Honey, the Gorgonzola-flavored chocolate overpowers it in both taste and smell. The use of blue cheese leaves a strong after-taste on the palate, albeit easily washed away with water. One seeking cookies with a harmonious blend of honey and cheese should look elsewhere. Nonetheless, this morsel presents an interesting bite.

We arrive last at the Basil and Mozzarella Cookies.

Once again, these cookies come individually wrapped in a shiny wrapper, embossed with the company logo and tagline in red.

These cookies come spiced with basil, tomato and mozzarella-flavored chocolate. The charming combination of tomato and mozzarella was distinct at first bite; basil soon emerged as the taste settled. It leaves a peppery aftertaste; a tantalizing tease to the taste buds. A snack worthy of cookie hunters who like their bites tangy.

It is interesting to note that while the boxes are not color-coded like the wrappers are, the colors of the stickers used to adorn them are different. Further, all Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Cookies can be stored up to 180 days; a great choice for a gift!
