Kailijumei Lipsticks are the new beauty craze! They have been featured on renowned sites like Buzzfeed and Elle magazine. These flower jelly lipsticks are infused with real dried flowers and topped with golden specks. As if that’s not amazing enough, these colour changing lipsticks turns from transparent to a light hue of baby pink when it comes into contact with your body temperature! That definitely sounds like one hell of a lipstick!
With the popularity and demand of these lipsticks, there are now many sources where we can obtain these gorgeous floral tubes. While we cannot ascertain whether the sources distribute legitimate or counterfeit Kailijumei lipsticks, we’ve received 3 different batches for comparison.
For starters, the Kailijumei lipsticks brought back by our travellers are from:
(1) Zalora Hong Kong
(2) Thailand-based Flower Jelly Lip shop
We compared the packaging of the Kailijumei Flame Red Lipstick, and all 3 comes with different packaging.
Evidently, the lippie from Shenzhen is starkly different, in a much smaller black packaging. From our observations, this black packaging may be the limited edition released for Kailijumei lipsticks. This will be further elaborated when we open the packaging to check out the lipstick itself!
Limited Edition Release from Shen Zhen
Even though the Kailijumei packaging from Thailand appears to be similar to the packaging from Zalora HK, we noticed significant differences upon a closer look.
The lipstick from Zalora HK is labelled “Flame Red”. Meanwhile, for Shenzhen’s Kailijumei lipstick, the shade “Flame Red” is also translated to Chinese. Hong Kong’s lippie is the only one which arrived in a protective plastic packaging.
This is another obvious difference between the Kailijumei lipstick packaging from Hong Kong and Thailand. On the left side of the packaging, the packaging from Zalora HK merely has a printed QR code. Meanwhile for Kailijumei lipstick from Thailand, there is a sticker with the ingredient list of the lipstick in Thai.
B. Lipstick tube
With regards to the lipstick itself, the one we received from Hong Kong and Thailand are almost exactly the same. Both lipsticks have a red push to pop tube and a mirror. The only minor difference would be the sticker label on the lipstick tube.
The Kailijumei lipstick from Shenzhen comes in a beautiful golden tube (instead of red) to complement the golden flakes on the lipsticks. We heard these are the limited edition release, we’re so lucky to have received them!
With regards to the actual lippie itself, both have the same lipsticks, and are both equally gorgeous. Well of course, the dried flowers in the lipstick cannot be identical since no real flower looks the same!
While we’re still waiting for the lipsticks from the most popular Kailijumei distributor on Instagram, we received some pictures from customers of the online store. It seems that they too, have the standard red tube packaging. Check the lipsticks out below:
